Summer Holidays Fun for Kids in Chatswood

31 December, 2019

There are a few weeks before term one, where we admit can be caught twiddling our thumbs wondering what to do to entertain our little humans after the hype of Christmas and New Years has subsided. Don’t stress mama, we’ve got you covered. Chatswood is where its at and there’s plenty to do to entertain your Mini-Me’s (and to more importantly keep you sane until school starts up again).

Why Drive when you can choo-choo-choo your way to Chatswood Interchange by train? We don’t know a littley who won’t squeal with delight at the mention of taking a bus, ferry or train. Bonus for parents, this means no sitting in traffic, no parking and if you want to have a cheeky glass of wine while you and your babes dine, then it’s a win, win for everyone! Thanks to the Sydney Metro you can now go from Tallawong to Chatswood with 13 stations in between!

Calling all kiddies, look no further than The Concourse! CDP Presents Tall Stories’ production of ‘Room On The Broom’ LIVE on stage! adapted from the award winning picture book by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler, published by Macmillan Children’s books. After its recent sell-out tour, the team behind The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child return for the summer holidays with songs, laughs and scary fun for children aged 3 and up – and their grown-ups…

Mini Maestros Children’s Concert featuring Maestro George Ellis, will be joined by special guest soprano Bridget Patterson to take children ages 0-12, and the young at heart, on a musical journey through the orchestra, with plenty of laughs along the way! You’ll learn about the instruments of the orchestra with Disney hits, Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music and many more.

Chatswood Library on The Concourse is set to be bustling with brilliant activities for age groups starting from 5yrs right up to 12-14yr old’s! With activities such as ‘Earth & Space’ movie series screenings, CRAFTernoon for your little budding Picassos, Astronomy Fascinating Facts talk and 42-3D animation filmmaking for the older kids.

If you’re into more of a ‘mooch around & movie session’ then Chatswood really is the place to be. With hundreds of retails stores to wander through and with Hoyts close by. You and your tots can potter around and purchase a thing or three and then rest those tired legs with a family fun movie! If you choose to drive into Chatswood, Hoyts offer 3 hour free parking and provide a premium viewing experience for all. Jumanji- Next Level, DoLittle, My Spy, Little Women and Star Wars – Rise of the Sky Walker are just to name a few movies coming to the big screen these school holidays!

Re-fuel those Tummies at Chatswood Interchange. With family friendly favourites like Sushi World and McDonald’s.. you’ll be assured there’s something for even the fussiest little eaters. Try Celsius Dessert Bar for a truly memorable ‘mad scientist’ experience with their unique Dragons Breath Desserts and super creamy gelatos. And Stretch Italian is the perfect place for the whole family to dine, equip with an awesome kids menu, grazing boards for mum and dad (and perhaps an Aperol Spritz to wash it down with). There’s something everyone will love at Chatswood Interchange! Oh! And never fear, there are amenities available for parents with tots. The Parents Room includes private feeding rooms, nappy changing facilities, food preparation area, parent/children toilets and easy access for prams.
