The Health Benefits Of Turmeric

6 September, 2019

Turmeric is one of the most effective and beneficial natural ingredients in existence. It’s been used as a medicinal herb in India for centuries and we’re excited to tell you all about its healing properties and benefits. Turmeric is the spice that gives curries that beautiful colour, and not mention, flavour. But what else is it used for?

Turmeric Latte
Although not really classed as a usual coffee per say but combine turmeric with milk to get a silky-smooth coffee without the caffeine. Whether you’re on a caffeine detox or not really a coffee drinker, a turmeric latte can hit the spot when you’re in the mood for a 3pm pick me up drink.

It’s A Natural Anti-Inflammatory
Turmeric is also well-known as a natural anti-inflammatory and can be used for pain inflammation without tablets. Although turmeric can be purchased in tablet form, it’s completely natural and you don’t have to find your Nurofen for some pain comfort.

Turmeric Face Mask
This one is a little more fun and hands on. Mix together some turmeric, yoghurt and honey and you’ve got yourself a delicious smelling (and natural) face mask to paint on before your nightly shower. The best part? You can do it in the comfort of your own home with pantry staples. It’s anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, reduces redness and ultra-hydrating. Just make sure you don’t over use the turmeric or your skin might go a little yellow. Unless you’re dressing up as Marg Simpson for a fancy-dress party.

You really can’t go past the spice section of Woolies now without popping a couple of turmeric bottles in your trolley. With its combined health benefits, you should try out some of our ideas this Spring to feel great!
