To Coriander or Not To Coriander – That Is The Question
13 June, 2019
Coriander. You either love it or you hate it, there is no fence sitting for this garnish. We’re definitely on the love side of coriander and we can’t get enough of it. Coriander is such a big part of Asian cuisine, its usually sit on top as a proud garnish for most dishes.
Coriander Or Cilantro?
Who knew that coriander had a different name? We certainly didn’t! Growing up knowing it only as coriander, hearing cilantro for the first time, made us think it was a fancy French wine to pair with your fab meal. As soon as the excitement of French wine disappeared, we were shocked to learn that people know it as cilantro instead of coriander.
To Stem or Not To Stem
Have you ever had to stand at the kitchen counter picking coriander leaves off the stem for your mums cooking? It’s a long and tedious task that (smart) mums palm it off to their kids. But did you know that you can use the coriander with the stem as well? *gasp* I could have had so many more hours in front of my dial-up internet! But yes, using the stem of your coriander, as well as the leaf, gives your dish that extra boost of coriander goodness. Jamie Oliver often uses coriander in his dishes and just rips the top off and quite literally chucks it into whatever dish he’s creating. It’s that simple.
How To Use Coriander

To be honest, use it with everything. It is delicious. Or did we forget to mention that we love it! China Chilli use it on practically everything. In this image alone, it’s used to garnish 3 dishes already. Sending our senses into over drive just thinking about it.
If it were up to us, we would say, to coriander and beyond.
