What exactly is Seltzer?

We love taste testing new boozy beverages on the market (it’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it) and we are totally smitten kittens with the latest trending drink that’s hit Aussie shelves, called ‘Seltzer’. This beautifully bubbly beverage is trending big time. Simply put, Seltzer itself is carbonated water – but never fear, we’re talking about the boozy kind this time around (we hear you sigh in relief).

Now if you’re a true uber cool hipster (perhaps sporting a man-bun while carrying an oversized distressed leather tote), you probably will have heard of the oh so popular, oh so Insta-worthy carbonated drink, La Croix. If you’re not quite down with the cool kids, La Croix is ‘Naturally Essenced Sparkling Water’ and comes in gorgeous printed cans that hits the lips of stars and socialites with its huge global popularity. But while La Croix is cool, this delicious variation deemed ‘Hard Seltzer’ has now been spiked, thus creating the new phenomenon that has us salivating at the thought of opening one of these spirituous spritzers on a hot summers day.

Here are just a few reasons why we’re seriously crushing on this exciting new evanescent elixir. Well for starters, its brand spanking new in Australia and everyone is talking about its delicious thirst quenching properties. It’s made with subtle natural flavours, its lightly sparkling and unlike other spritzers which tend to be full of sugar and often sickly sweet, these little sexy seltzers have a clear, dry finish. They’re lower in sugar, carbs* and are almost always gluten free. Boozy Seltzer is the refreshing and slightly odd change we’ve all been looking for!

At Quincy, they use their brewing credentials and through a rice fermentation, their alcohol is naturally occurring and gluten free!
