Wow-factor cakes around Chatswood

Eat cake for a good cause!
Every year in May, the Cancer Council coordinates Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea to raise funds to support people impacted by cancer. Money raised is donated to patients, their families, researchers and medical facilities. This year, we might not be able to enjoy our morning tea together, but that doesn’t mean missing out! It’s not that often you can eat cake and do good at the same time so embrace the opportunity and indulge.
Where to get amazing cakes and treats in Chatswood
Swing into Pishon at Chatswood Interchange for Death by Chocolate, Green Tea Chiffon, Black Sesame Green Tea, Red Velvet and so much more. These spectacular cakes are a treat both for the eye and the tastebuds! Pishon is also selling online and delivering via HospoMarket so you don’t even need to leave home. While some of our other local favourite bakeries are closed at the moment, there are plenty of pastry chefs creating masterpieces every day. You can have them delivered, contact-free, straight to your door.
Get creative: Bake and decorate your dream cake
Never whipped Chantilly cream or made a sponge cake before? Want to master the creme brulee or perfect your pavlova? Have trouble with fondant? Don’t know how to arrange fresh flowers as a cake topper? Watch a few ‘how-to’ Youtube videos and try it. Now is the time to build your skills and indulge your creativity. The Cancer Council has links to their favourite recipes but there are literally millions of places to find inspiration on Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram.
Cake decorating is also an excellent activity to keep the kids entertained. If your little ones want to have a go, take a look at The Australian Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake Book, choose your favourite design and get into the kitchen. The instructions are simple to follow, but be warned, they require a lot of food colouring and lollies to look that good! To take their decorating skills to the next level, check out Paris Cutler’s book Planet Cake. It’s a beginner’s guide to decorating incredible cakes that will challenge them (and probably you!).
