16 November, 2018
There’s no question, the food offering in Chatswood is world class. Regardless of which cuisine you’re craving, it’s safe to say you will leave most restaurants belly full and smile wide. Here are our highlights for those times when you’ve got a mounting hunger and major decision anxiety.
1. Sure to give you the good sweats, Kana Moo Krob, $16, is easily one of Chum Tang’s most popular dishes. For those unfamiliar, it’s wok-tossed crispy pork belly with scud (bird’s eye) chilli and Chinese broccoli served on a mound of steamed rice.

2. If you’re never not in the mood for golden fried chicken, head to 1Ton. Their crispy skin roast chicken noodles, $15.80, is the definition of a classic done well. You can order the dry or soup version, depending on your craving.
3. Sichuan style crispy tea-smoked duck, $31.80, from China Chilli, really can’t be ignored. The tea leaves infuse the meat with a beautiful aroma. The sliced duck is served with Chinese steamed buns. Are you in or are you in?
4. Passion Tree’s Berry Good Pancake Stack, $14.90, is a thing to behold: three fluffy pancakes poised in a pool of berry goodness, topped with an upside-down waffle cone of berry ice-cream. We promise the flavours will be as phenomenal as your Insta shots.

5. The classic grilled unagi don at Ippudo is Japanese eel in kabayaki sauce over rice, $12. It’s reliably good thanks to eel that’s delicate, sweet and – quite literally – mouth-watering.
